Martin, Delmar Leon
Passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Hospice Waterloo at the age of 72 years.
Beloved husband and best friend of Helen for almost 14 years. Dear father of Jeanette Martin, and stepdad of Adam Shulist and Nick (Kirstin) Shulist. Devoted grandpa of Taz (Jordan) and Lorissa, and Saphire Moody, Evan Hayward, Brianna Martin; papa to Max and Harland Shulist; great-grandpa of Jaxon, Dominic and Audrey. Delmar will be missed by his siblings Lorna (Art) Martin, Doreen Meekis, Fern (Eli) Martin, Gerald (Sheila) Martin, Donna O’Hara, Cam (Vi) Martin, and by his many nieces and nephews and their families.
Predeceased by his parents Ervin and Susannah (Bauman) Martin, sister Carol (1999), brother Merle (2020) and brothers-in-law Sheldon Melitzer and Elias Meekis.
Delmar was a long distance truck driver with BTL, loved camping and family gatherings, word puzzles and board games. Delmar was a longtime faithful member of Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church, serving in many capacities.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church, 2 First St. W., Elmira. Cremation will take place.
As expressions of sympathy donations to Hospice Waterloo or Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
