Stacey Victoria Degen died in Kelowna, B.C. on March 22, 2024. She was born on July 11, 1985, in Grand Prairie, Alberta, and adopted into her forever loving family at age two.
At times, Stacey thrived. She found the simple things in life enjoyable — she loved the outdoors, good movies, music, and books. Stacey was a true foodie. She was a talented cook; she cherished good ingredients and showed her love through the wholesome food she prepared for others. She had a strong desire to travel. One of her biggest accomplishments was travelling to Thailand to care for elephants. Stacey lived life with a passion, plenty of adventure, and laughter. Connecting with people was important to her. Unfortunately, Stacey’s journey was not without struggle, as she battled with a complex drug addiction throughout her life.
Stacey will be remembered for her emotional independence and her wilful spirit. She was a sensitive soul who was, at times, lost.
Stacey is survived by her adoptive parents; her sister; a birth son; her grandfather; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be deeply missed.
