Peacefully, on Friday, April 14, 2023, in her ninety-third year. Wife of the late Joseph Rand and the late Jack Rosenberg. Beloved mother of Aaron (Val). Exuberantly proud grandmother of Casey and Howard, Molly and Jeremy. Loving great-grandmother of Arlo and Remi. Dear sister of Nyoma, and the late Lyova, both of Israel. She remained fiercely independent until her last days, taking her final breath in her home, where she had always insisted she wanted to be. She impressed all those she met with kindness, empathy, and consideration, and rewarded those who did the same to her, with a unique and foolproof acknowledgement of thanks… chocolate. She will be eternally missed and fondly remembered. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, April 18 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Montreal Workers’ Circle Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva strictly private. Contributions in Deborah’s memory may be made to the Montreal Holocaust Museum, (514) 345-2605.
