SPENCER, Debby-Lou (MacCorquodale) passed away suddenly at Orangeville Hospital on Saturday May 11, 2024. She left us far too soon at the age of 67. Cherished wife of Richard Spencer. Loving mother of Dawn (Justin) Card of Whitby and Andrew (Grace Chu) Spencer of Cambridge. “Nana Deb” will forever live on in the hearts of her grandchildren Addison, Kaitlyn and Nathan. Beloved sister to twin Betty-Lou (Peter Parker) Kristy of Georgetown, Valerie (Arnold Ludgate deceased 2019) Carrigan of Mississauga and Don (Melissa Skarban) MacCorquodale of Mississauga. She will also be missed by her many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Debby will be remembered for her profound love of family. Family was her everything. She would hop in her car and drive to any opportunity to spend time with her grandkids at their swimming events, at the cottage or just hanging around the house with them. She loved joining Andrew and Grace at bingo, sporting events, concerts or a spontaneous lunch. She also enjoyed regular visits with her dear sister Valerie.
Debby’s radiant spirit, kindness, generosity and unwavering support is what made her so special to so many of us. She was the anchor of our family and the thread who kept us tightly connected. She will be missed.
Celebration of Debby’s wonderful life will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. with words of remembrance at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcome to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
A tree will be planted in memory of Debby in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
