Obituary
It is with hearts heavy with grief that we share the passing of Dean Gamble, adored son of Norma Gamble (nee Campbell) and Mark Gamble, and devoted brother of Ryan Gamble. He was a brave yet gracious warrior to the end.
Dean was born in Limerick, Ireland and became one of Ireland’s youngest emigrants when he left for South Africa with his parents at four weeks old. One year later the family unit was completed by the addition of Dean’s brother, Ryan. The family emigrated to Canada in 1979 and settled in Oakville. Dean was a great soccer player (goalie), loved fishing, especially at the Campbell family cottage in Port Carling, and was a devoted nature lover who loved taking photos of hawks, most especially. In business, he was a kind, thoughtful, and loyal leader. Dean is remembered by all who knew him as one of the kindest and most caring humans.
Dean is already so very much missed by his brother, Ryan; his mother, Norma; his father, Mark, and his family, Gail, Jackie, and Ingrid; his aunt and uncle, Anne and Bruce Campbell of Toronto and his cousins, Rob, Ruth, Ayla, and Charlie as well as Stephen, May, Matt, and Parami. A private family funeral is planned. There will, however, be a Celebration of Life planned for May 12th at 3 P.M. at The Gambrel, Country Heritage Park at 8560 Tremaine Rd. in Milton.
The family is grateful to all those who have reached out and shared their memories and condolences. In lieu of flowers, the Passport Rotary Club will accept donations towards the creation of the Dean Gamble Peace Park to be situated at Country Heritage Park, where 24 maple trees will be planted in his memory. eTransfers can be sent to treasurer.passport7080@gmail.com mentioning Dean and/or Peace Park. LOVE CAME FIRST
You don’t move on after loss, but you must move with. You must shake hands with grief, welcome her in, for she lives with you now. Pull her a chair at the table and offer her comfort. She is not the monster you first thought her to be. She is love. And she will walk with you now, stay with you now, peacefully. If you let her.
And on the days when your anger is high, remember why she came, remember who she represents. Remember. Grief came to you my friend because love came first. Love came first…
