Dawn Valois Obituary
After a short battle with ALS, Dawn Ellen passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family and dearest friends, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the age of 69 years. Dawn Ellen was the sister to Duane Duquette (Patty), D’Arcy Duquette (Vicki), Danielle Abbott (Harry), Debra Duquette, Daryl Duquette (Mary), Dana Daunais (Alain), and Drew Duquette (Natasha). She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Duane Jr., Trish, Greg, Cory, Justine, Natalie, Amy, Jason, Gillian, Samantha, Bryanne, Brittany, Brandon, Tyler and Holden. She will forever be a guardian angel to many great nieces and nephews. Dawn Ellen will also be forever remembered by her best friends Stephanie Allard and Mike Steven. In addition, she will be missed by special neighbours Greg and Tanya. She is reunited with her parents, Don Duquette and Helen (nee McParland) Duquette as well as her fur companion, Shelby.
Dawn Ellen had a positive impact on anyone who knew her, be it through her nursing career or many friendships along her way. She was an incredible gardener, a beautiful crafter, and the truest friend. She lived life her way each day, showing her determination, resilience, and strength. She will be fondly missed by anyone who loved or was loved by her.
The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, between the hours of 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption (North Bay) on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to All Heart Pet Rescue and Pets 4 Vets Canada would be gratefully acknowledged by Dawn Ellen’s family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
