PAYTON, David Paul (August 19, 1942 – November 17, 2024)
It is with great sadness that we the family mourn the passing of our loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend David Paul Payton on Sunday, November 17th, 2024, at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital in his 82nd year, after a courageous struggle with sudden onset of illness.
David is survived by his partner of 33 years Heather, six much loved children: Mary (Jon) Smith, Tillsonburg and their son Jonathon; Christopher Adam Payton (Crystal), Corunna and their children: Leona, Kai, Dante, Stevie: Christine Elizabeth Smith (Lance), New Zealand and their children: Paige, Ethan; Stephen Scovil, Tillsonburg; Abbie Lynn Payton and her children: Shayla, Caleb and Caylee; and Theresa Scovil (Kevin Hertwig), London. Also survived by a brother Edward, U.S.A. and by a special nephew Bill Payton, U.S.A. Predeceased by a brother Frank.
David served with Honoured Distinction in the U.S.A. Navy serving on a long-term basis and during the Vietnam War Conflict. David endured difficult Active Duty Conditions during the war. After he was Honourably Discharged from military David was a dedicated Tractor Trailer Operator/Driver for a number of years until later he became an Escort Driver for Oversize and Long Load Trucks. David had a great passion for working in his garden and he loved to go fishing as well. He highly-valued time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place with inurnment later in the New Road Cemetery, Tillsonburg.
