We are sad to share that David Norman Chipman passed away peacefully on August 31st 2023. His beloved Sharron (Beaudette) was at his side. He had fought a long battle with cancer and, after thorough and thoughtful consideration, decided he had arrived at his journey’s end.
David leaves behind his daughter, Kimberley Samis (Jim), his son Scott Chipman, his sister Jean Heger, his nephew Mark Loeser, his niece Laura Loeser and stepsister Carol Mathewson (Stuart). He is also survived by the mother of his children Louise Hazell. His extended family includes Sharron’s sister and brother-in-law Lori and Marcel Caron, Lori’s children Jennifer Groleau (Matt) and Rebecca Davidson (Tod) and her grandchildren Maggie and Ellie Groleau and Marcel’s children Blake Caron (Maryse) and Chelsea Smith (Scott) and his grandchild Charlee. Also, members of the Beaudette clan Terry and Tim, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, of course so many dear friends in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and BC.
David roamed many trails in his time. From Montreal to Pierrefonds QC, to Avonmore ON, to Calgary and later High River AB and ultimately back to Avonmore. His many friends will recall David the talented graphic artist, the skilled woodworker, the fly fisherman, the photographer, the land agent, the builder, the music lover, the landscape designer, the pet guardian and perhaps most of all…David was a lover of all the gifts nature provides.
David loved to laugh and debate the issues of the day with mates and friends like Nick Riedl, especially round a campfire or next to a cosy wood stove. He had such diverse talents and he was quick to lend a hand to help you tackle your next project. He shared his enthusiasms generously. We will miss him. We treasure the time we had together.
Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Cornwall ON. Cremation has already taken place. No service by request. You are invited to make a donation in David’s memory to the Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre (Cornwall Ontario).
