Obituary for
David Francis Given
Dave passed away peacefully, at 76 years of age, on June 11, 2023 in his home for the past nine years at Dundas Manor, Winchester, formerly of Edwards ON. He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Marguerite (nee Denison) Given; the beloved brother of Brenda (Earl) Maahs; and proud uncle and great-uncle of Kyle (John) Gregg and their children, Cameron and Mackenzie; and Ronna (Allan) Sheldrick and their children Jorja and Teagan. He will be missed dearly.
Dave’s passion was “Oldies but Goodies” music and in particular the “Doo Wop” tunes. His research and study of music culminated in his writing The Dave Given Rock ‘n’ Roll Stars Handbook and became his way of life.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Pierre de Moissac for his dedication and compassion, and Dave’s Dundas Manor family for their love and tender care.
An interment will be held by Rev. Dr. Anne Quick at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa on July 5, 2023 at 11 a.m.
A memorial donation may be made to the building fund for the new Dundas Manor at www.dundasmanordream.ca
