Darren Bloy Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our hero Darren Kelly Bloy, also known as Lumby, Bung, D-cock, D-train, O.G, The Wizard – the list goes on. Darren passed away October 11th, 2024, at the age of 52, peacefully in his home with his wife and son by his side.
He will be forever remembered by his wife Leanne of 27 years and his pride and joy, his son Austin. Also to leave a hole in the hearts of his in-laws, who thought of him as a son/brother Larry and Lynn Novakowski, of 100 Mile House. Scott and Kristy Novakowski and Taya, Molly and Joey of Williams Lake, B.C. He also leaves behind his brother Justus Bloy and a sister, Bridgette Bloy of the lower mainland of B.C – they were never close, but he thought of them often. Along with many others, aunts, uncles, and cousins, Darren had many fond memories.
Darren was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Davies and his father, Micheal Bloy.
Darren was born in Calgary, Alberta and grew up in Coquitlam, B.C. After finding Leanne in “95”, they married in 1997 and built their lives in Hinton – a small family and a bunch of dogs.
Darren was known for his passion and love for all things mechanical – and there was nothing he could not fix – and there wasn’t anyone he couldn’t make laugh. Darren loved spending time outdoors, camping, dirt biking and more recently, boating and fishing. He leaves his family and friends with the promise to keep living and to keep loving life.
It was Darren’s request that no service take place but for all who had the honor and joy to know him, to raise a drink and play tunes by the fire, to laugh and keep laughing.
In lieu of flowers, Darren requested us to plant a tree in a favorite spot, put up a bird feeder to feed his feathered friends – and to plant a flower every spring for the bees.
