Obituary
Wilbur Dale Jollymore, 90, of Brule Point passed away peacefully at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital on November 6, 2024. Born on April 14, 1934 on Brule Point, he was the son of Stanley and Jean Jollymore.
Dad had a very strong sense of family and having fun. As a fourth-generation owner (although dad preferred the term caretaker) of the family farm on Brule Point, Dad was forever delighted when the farm was used as a place for the family to gather and enjoy.
Dad was always in motion. He loved having a plan and getting things done. The best way to know him was to work alongside him. As a steel worker, farmer, construction business owner and Vice President of Development at Fox Harb’r, Dad saw a great deal of the world and truly enjoyed the many, many relationships he had with people both near and far from his home on Brule Point. He cared deeply about building and strengthening the communities of people around him, including as a member and trustee of the Brule Union Church, a member of the Tatamagouche Fire Department and the Tatamagouche Legion. He also greatly enjoyed serving on numerous Boards including the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Willow Lodge, and the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation to name a few.
Through thick and thin, it was Pauline, the love of his life and wife of more than 69 years who was the center of his universe and partner in all things. Together they built a remarkable life. Dad had a wonderful sense of humour and leaves us with a rich trove of wisdom, stories, and memories.
Dale is survived by his wife Pauline (MacKay), daughter-in-law Charlene, daughter Cynthia, son Mark (Michelle Schreuer), grandchildren Ashlee (Paul Bichler), Breann Tremblay (Erik), Alexander, great-grandchildren Madeline, Nash and Rhett, brothers Murray (Pamela), Arch (Anne), and sister Mary Braedley (Dave). Dale is predeceased by his parents Stan and Jean (MacDonald), his brother Peter (Heather), daughter Gloria, and son Gregg.
Dale’s family would like to thank Dr. MacFarlane and staff at the Nova Scotia Cancer center and are immensely grateful to Dr. Roebuck, the duty doctors, nurses, caregivers and staff of the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital for the tremendous care and attention given to Dale.
A visitation will be held at Coulter’s Funeral Home in Tatamagouche on November 14 from 6:00 to 8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at Brule Union Church on November 15 at 2:00PM. A time of reception will follow at the Tim Horton Children’s Camp in Tatamagouche.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Tatamagouche Fire Department, Tim Horton Children’s Foundation or community charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
