RUDDELL, Colin “Barney” – Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at St. Catharines General Hospital on Sunday September 10, 2023 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of the late Linda Ruddell (2007). Loving father of Jim (Anne) Ruddell and Jessica (Alessandro Albano) Ruddell. Caring grandfather of Carling, Macallan, and the late Sam Elizabeth (2007). He will be sadly missed by his partner of 13 years, Judy Palazzolo. Dear brother of Judy (Paul) Yorke. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Predeceased by his father Samuel (2013) and mother Joan (2016).
Barney was a member of the Niagara Falls Fire Department, proudly serving his community for 37 years. An avid golfer, boater, and with a desire to see the world he retired as Deputy Chief in the fall of 2007 to enjoy winters in Florida with his family and friends.
Friends are invited to MORSE AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Thursday September 14, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday September 15, 2023 at 11 am. Cremation will follow with a private family interment at a later date. Barney gave to causes that were close to his heart. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to do the same and make a memorial donation to a charity of your choice.
