Coleen passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at (Cambridge Memorial Hospital).
Coleen had been struggling with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was in her 88th year. She was predeceased by her husband Donald on October 6, 2020.
Beloved mother to Lisa Cox (Luc) and Lorilee Riddell-Carpenter (Rob). A proud grand mother of Andrew (Jessica), Stefan and Michelle. A Great Grandmother to Tom and Joe.
She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Alice Woods and sisters Marion and Ethel.
Coleen was born on February 27, 1937, and grew up with her parents and sisters on Portland Street in Cambridge (Galt).
Coleen was always a very kind and passionate person. She dedicated her time raising her children and volunteering for many organizations and her church throughout her life. She was also an Avid Gardener and loved spending many hours in her gardens. In her card playing years she also played Bridge.
Her and Donald spend winters in Florida and Coleen always said they were some of the best times of her life. She loved the sunshine and the water. The family also spent many fun times at Port Dover and Southampton.
She also loved animals and “Gracie” her cat was her longtime companion.
At Coleen’s request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at Avenue Road Baptist Church, 465 Avenue Road, Cambridge, on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 2 pm with refreshments to follow.
We would like to thank the staff of Cambridge Memorial Hospital (Emergency Unit), 4th floor medicine, and to the staff on the same floor at Seasons Cambridge for providing great care to Coleen.
