Clive Clarke, aged 88, died peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. He was born on July 3, 1934 in Birmingham, England.
He is survived by his son, Jasper; his daughter in law, Andrea; his granddaughter Eleanor and his former wife Deborah.
Clive was a world traveler before settling down in Toronto, Ontario with his family. He started his own metal fabrication business, working hard to make it a success before he retired. While he received little higher education he was well read and enjoyed his books, the Financial Times newspaper and Scientific American magazine. He was a loving father who enjoyed playing games of chess with his son. He was also a dog lover, having had many dogs over the years whom he loved dearly. His favorite pastime was reading the newspaper in his recliner while watching the birds on their feeders. He was a gardener who planted many flowers and a vegetable garden. Clive was happiest sharing stories and jokes. He was particularly happy sharing new things he had learned and while listening to and watching his granddaughter play.
A Green Burial Service was held at Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria on Thursday, March 30th, 2023.
