Parcourez la nécrologie de Clayton Carlson 2024 résidant dans la province Colombie britanique pour le détail des funérailles.
Clay was born in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan, in 1939. His Mother did most of the child rearing as his Dad was away working or had gone to war.
He attended Clarksdale school and then Glenbush to complete his education.
Clay entered the workforce in 1959, when he became a relief station agent with CN.
He relieved agents all over southern Saskatchewan and parts of Manitoba.
This is where he met his wife, Betty, while relieving in Hodgeville, Saskatchewan, in 1964.
After marrying her in 1966, they lived in Moose Jaw for a short time before settling in Waldheim, Saskatchewan, where he took on a permanent agency with CN. They lived there until 1971, when the smaller stations and rail lines were being shut down. While there, they had their two children, Crystal (1967) and Doug (1969).
In 1971, they moved to greener pastures in Vernon, BC, where Clay began to work with Kenkraft RV Sales in Lavington. He was with that business for 30 years, building, repairing and designing custom RV’s. He also built their 24’ sailboat for use on Okanagan Lake while there.
After retiring in 2000, Clay and Betty travelled extensively with their various RVs and their sailboat moored in San Diego. They took several cruises and bus tours traveling to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and many areas of the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. Their first trip post retirement was for three months across Canada.
Clay loved camping, fishing, archery, being with family and building things for their home. He was very industrious and always wanted to repair things without any outside help.
Clay was pre-deceased by his parents, Carl and Jean, and a brother, Dale. He is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter Crystal (Patrick), son Doug (Marie), two grandsons, Justin (Chloe) and Adam (Jodi). Also, brothers Aubrey, Blaine and Larry. Several other relatives and friend are also mourning his loss.
Special thanks go out to Heritage Square Senior Living residence. Clay had excellent care throughout his stay there.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, May 27th at 1:00PM, at
the Army and Navy 2500 46th Avenue Vernon, BC
In Clay’s memory, please think about sending donations to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
