Clarence Eugene Marentette, completed his earthly journey and entered into eternal rest on July 20th, 2024. Born on December 18th, 1939, in Windsor.
Clarence was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Marilyn nee. Dupuis for 61 glorious years. Together, they cultivated a family.
Adoring father to Robin, partnered with Paul, and Melissa, partnered with Jamie.
Clarence’s legacy blossomed as he embraced the role of Pappy to Chelsea and her spouse Ian, Brooke alongside Steven, Luke with his partner Karleigh, and to Jed and Jarett. And in the twilight of his life, he was blessed to become Grand Pappy to Charlotte.
In the hearts of his siblings, Clarence’s memory will forever be cherished. He is preceded in passage by his parents, Edward and Lydia Marentette. His brother Frank, his sister Anne (Survived by Jim) Moore, and brother-in-law Earl, with Patricia by his side, will hold dear the bond they shared with Clarence. His sister Dolores, widowed by Edward, and Marie, alongside George, along with sister-in-law Dolores, widowed by Paul.
He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In 1981, Clarence founded Clarence Marentette Insurance Brokers Limited and was a pillar of his community for 32 years. His analytical mind and intelligent approach to business affairs garnered him respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike.
Clarence was a man of many passions, finding joy and excitement in the thunderous gallop of horses at the Kentucky Derby and the competitive spirit of his beloved teams, the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. His love for horse racing was matched only by his love for his family and his fervent faith.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windsor Regional Cancer Centre Foundation.
On Tuesday, July 23 visitation will be held from 4pm – 7pm with parish prayers at 6:30pm at Families First South Windsor (3260 Dougall Ave. Windsor, 519 969 5841). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 24th at 11am with visitation prior from 10am until the time of mass. Procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery to follow.
