“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles “Chuck” Alan Wakeling
September 6th, 1945 – May 23rd 2024. Born to parents Thomas and Connie Wakeling in Weston Ontario. Chuck is survived and missed dearly by his beloved family and friends. Married to his wife Barbara Wakeling for almost 60 years with their two cherished sons, John Wakeling (Lynda Dikken) and Robert Wakeling. He absolutely adored his grandchildren, Robert Wakeling, Alyssa Wakeling, Tyler Wakeling, and Michael Wakeling. Chuck will be fondly remembered by his three beautiful great grandchildren, Skylar, Scarlett and William Wakeling. Chuck lived an active life and kept himself busy with many hobbies. He was a handyman and enjoyed spending a lot of his time working on house projects. He also enjoyed fishing, and for many years him and Barb enjoyed their home-away-from-home at their trailer in Gravenhurst Ontario. Spending nights by the fire with family, board games, and boat rides on the lake were some of his favourite things to do. Chuck’s can do attitude, and great sense of humour will be dearly missed by all.”
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Monday, May 27th, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. with Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm.
A tree will be planted in memory of Charles in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 22nd Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
