Christine Bate
(nee Denhertog)
Age 82, peacefully passed away February 17, 2023 in Bowmanville.
Christine was born in The Netherlands December 19, 1940. Christine and her family immigrated to Pontypool when she was 12 years old. She married James Koss in 1957 and raised two daughters Cindy Morris of Florida and Cheryl Rigby (Mark) of Bowmanville. Christine was a proud Oma of two grandchildren Ian Rigby and Emilee Morris. Christine was the dear daughter of Klazina and Cornelius Denhertog. She is survived by her two brothers Richard and Casey (Janet) Denhertog. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Helen VanderBelt (Harry).
Christine’s passions included being a flower designer for Van Belle Gardens and eventually became the owner operator of Deluxe Taxi in Bowmanville before retiring. Christine will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Cremation has taken place, Service & Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able to make a donations to the Humane Society which was close and dear to her heart.
