Christine Rosemary Hatfield (nee Woodcock)

It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Christine Hatfield, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, on November 8, 2024. Christine was the only daughter of Charles and Doris Woodcock (both previously deceased). Christine was a devoted mother to her four sons, Trevor Allinson (Joanne), twins Richard Allinson (Bonnie) and Philip Allinson (Laura), and Martin Allinson (Bernice). Lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Debbie MacMillan, with whom she shared a close bond. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Heather (Brandon), Luke, Rachel (Will), Amanda (Josh), Mackenzie, Zachary, Madeline and Matthew. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren: Carlie, Riley, Isaac and Ivy. She is survived by her brother Graham (predeceased by his wife Christine) and her nieces Emma and Sally. She will be missed by her former husband and beloved ballroom dancing partner, Bill Hayes, with whom she shared many cherished memories on and off the dance floor. Christine will be dearly missed by all who knew her
Christine dedicated her life to serving others as a compassionate nurse, bringing care and comfort to those in need as well as owing and operating H&R Block in Port Hope and Cobourg for many years. Her hands were always busy, drawing, painting, nurturing her family or preparing meals filled with love. Cooking was her passion, and her kitchen was a place of warmth and togetherness, where she delighted family and friends with her culinary skills making cookies, pies and many delicious treats.
A devoted follower of Jesus, Christine lived her life with faith, grace, and kindness. She touched the hearts of all who knew her, leading by example with her love, patience, and unwavering devotion to her faith, and singing in the choir at the Port Hope First Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at the Port Hope First Baptist Church on Wednesday 13 November 2024 at 11:00 am, reception to follow the service will be at the church, where we will celebrate the beautiful life she led and the profound impact she made. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Port Hope First Baptist Church or to Alzheimer’s Research in her memory.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:4
