Blades, Christine Ann – It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mom, Christine Ann (Maxwell) Blades. Christine passed peacefully on December 10, 2023, at the Yarmouth Regional hospital with her loving family by her side. Born at Lower Clarks Harbour on May 25, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Ashward and Lola (Nickerson) Maxwell. Above all, Mama was a dedicated mother, who took great pride in her children and grandchildren’s achievements. She was a gifted knitter, crafter, as well as decorator. Mom loved the holidays as well as family get together’ s, Easter picnics and Halloween were spent at upper Clyde and was enjoyed by her immediate and extended family and friends. Christine enjoyed spending time with her Christmas club. Christine loved to volunteer and help her community and was instrumental in fundraising for the gates of the cemetery where she was born and raised. Christine was employed for many years by Canada Post as a rural mail carrier, a job that she shared with her husband Victor Blades. She also held various jobs in the community. In her later years, she enjoyed time with family, especially “Nan’s boy, Cameron” he always put a smile on her face every time they were together. We had many adventures together, be it the Hawk Road deer drives or shopping trips to Yarmouth and the list goes on.
