Margaret Christena Gross of Auburn passed peacefully into her Lord’s presence in her 90th year, on Thursday, September 5th, 2024. Loving wife of Carmen for 57 years, who preceded her to heaven in 2016. Christena was a loving mother to her children and their spouses: Steven & Shirley Gross, David & Lois Gross, Barbara & Owen Steele, Gary Gross and Susan & Janos Botschner. She was a proud grandmother of: Alyssa & Aadan Rigby, Aaron & Christine Gross, Logan Steele & Elaine Tat, Ellen Steele & Brampton Dakin, and Hansi, Atti and Anna Botschner. In recent years, Christena was delighted to welcome five great-grandchildren: Cedric, Silas and Selah Rigby, and Liana and Felix Gross. Predeceased by her parents John Guy Cunningham and Margaret Ellen (Adams), brothers Walter and Tom, sisters-in-law Ila and Donna and granddaughter Amanda Gross. Survived by her sister and brother-in-law Eileen and Lloyd McClinchey and sister-in-law Eunice. Also missed by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gordon and Bernice Gross and sister-in-law Marguerite. Loved dearly by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Christena was a woman of faith, and a quiet and loving soul. Always showing kindness to others, she often visited friends or neighbours with some of her beautiful roses to share, or sent encouraging notes and cards, usually with a Bible verse inside. Christena delighted in family, and took great interest and pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christena was curious about the world and encouraged that in her family. She loved the beautiful farm and gardens she created with her loving husband, where she resided until moving into Huronlea almost a year ago. Her beautiful smile will now be lighting up heaven as she greets all her loved ones who have gone before. Visitation will be held at Falconer Funeral Homes Clinton Chapel on Thursday, September 12th from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, September 13th at Calvary Baptist Church in Goderich beginning at 1 p.m. with service following at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the funeral followed by interment at Hope Chapel Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Bible Society, the Alzheimer Society Huron-Perth or Community Living Central Huron would be much appreciated.
