Obituary
MOWERS, Cheryl Ann (nee LaPointe) – Born May 5, 1962 in Niagara Falls, Cheryl passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday September 6, 2024 at the age of 62. Beloved wife of the late George Mowers, cherished mother of Michelle (Adam Burt) Dunn and stepmother to Brad (Dianna) Mowers. Loving grandmother to Calvin Burt, Amelia Burt, and adored bonus grandchildren Antonio Moriello, Curtis Burt, Lauryn Mowers and Emma Mowers. She will be deeply missed by her brother, James LaPointe, and her caregiver and former spouse, Bruce Dunn. Cheryl’s nurturing heart and fierce support were the cornerstone of her family. She faced cancer with unyielding courage and maintained her sense of humor and joy despite life’s challenges. Her legacy is one of love, strength and cherished memories. Her diverse passions included Harley Davidsons, music and caring for animals from cats to donkeys. Her constant cravings for McDonalds were unwavering. Cheryl found peace in simple pleasures like watching birds, thunderstorms and being with her grandchildren. Cheryl spent years being everyone’s favourite bartender. Whether she was at the Belleview, Canadian Corps or The Caverly, she always remembered what you drank and looked forward to the familiar faces. Later on, Cheryl then began to assist with trailer sales and rentals alongside her husband George. She then moved onto manufacturing work where she was last employed at SunOpta. She was always delighted in sharing the fruit snacks she helped package with her grandchildren. Cheryl’s greatest gift was her boundless generosity and compassion, extending beyond her family to all in need. She would always give a helping hand where she could. She was an honest and loyal person to her core. Her cheerful and silly demeanor would brighten a room every time she smiled. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. A private visitation and funeral service will be held with cremation to follow.
