Charoline Alice (Mattatall) Canfield – 73, Upper Malagash, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche. Charoline was born in Springhill on February 21, 1950 to Harold and Gwen (Hagas) Mattatall. Charoline was known by many as the best waitress around who referred to her customers as «Hun» and «Dear». She absolutely loved to a head out to a dance on a Saturday night with her friends and we hope she is dancing again. Her blue eyes and beauty were stunning and she could light up a room with her charm and humour. Charoline leaves behind her boyfriend, Phillip Donaldson; daughters, Ronda and Michelle (Kenny), nine grandchildren, Mathew, Krista, Jeremy, Sydney, Kennedy, Brett, Madison, Danielle and Erin; seven great grandchildren, Parker, Allie, Emerson, Zander, Charlotte, Jenson and Kaleb. Charoline’s grandchildren lovingly referred to her as Nan Coug. She also leaves behind Gordon and Shirley Donaldson and family, Shirley Donaldson, Vivian Harpell, Marina Biggins and Sandy LeBlanc Grenier were her dear friends through the years and Charlotte Hunt her caretaker will miss her dearly. Charoline was predeceased by her daughter, Alisa; parents, Harold and Gwen; her brother, Richard and her dog Studly.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 29 at Charlotte and Kendall’s at 3022 Highway 6, Tatamagouche from 2pm – 4pm. A Private Committal will be held in the Wallace River Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche.
