Obituary of Charles Edward Schooley
Charles Edward Schooley Sr. was born and raised in Crystal Beach, Ontario, and passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Friday December 27th, 2024, in his 96th year.
He was a loving husband to Joan Schooley (Deschamps) for 69 years, devoted father to Cheryl Elve (Al Elve), Pam Collings (Ron Roberge), Charles Jr. and Jason (Angela Schooley). Loving papa to his grandchildren, Joseph, James, Justin, Jessika, Mariah, Allan, Britney and Eithan and his great grandchildren, Samantha, Jake, Noah, Mason, Brooklynn, Emily, Luke and Ayleigh. Predeceased by his father, Edward Leroy and mother Emma Jean, and his brothers, Raymond, Leroy, John and his sisters Jean and Marcella. He will be missed by many of his extended family and friends.
In his free time, Charles enjoyed the finer things in life like camping, cards, darts, pool, bowling, attending horse races and visiting with friends and family while sipping on a few beverages. He proudly served in the US Navy and was a legion member in his younger years.
Charles will be forever remembered for his kindness, his laughter, his devotion, and love for his family which he raised in his hometown. He will be comically remembered for his duct tape abilities, chainsaw skills and generous use of WD 40.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Scher, and the nursing staff and PSW’s who supported in the care of Charles these last few months.
Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Rd N Ridgeway, has been entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 2nd from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel on Friday January 3rd at 11:00 am.
