Charlene Ann Fasano
October 2, 1949 – June 29, 2023
It is with saddened hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Charlene Fasano. Left to mourn her are daughters Carrie Ann and Kyra Beadman (Richard Beadman pre-deceased) and son Bryce Cote (Patricia) (Roger Cote) and her two beautiful grandsons Beau and Brooks who were the light of her day. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Maria (Ken) Krahn, Gina (Henry) McEleney, Connie (Stan) Mah, Tony Fasano, Karmen (Gerald) Gendreau, Teri (Jack) Bailey and Michael Fasano. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, along with their own children. Charlene was predeceased by her parents Sam & Kay (Hallissey) Fasano.
Charlene was a fierce warrior, never giving up hope for “more time” as she battled a devastating and rare cancer diagnosis. She was brave and optimistic to the very end.
Charlene will be remembered for her loyalty to family and lifelong friends, her love of animals, as well as being a defender of anyone who was an underdog. She had an easy going personality and the ability to be friendly to people of all types, especially those she met while working at Modern Cleaners, her own health food business and Mercier’s Mini Mart where she worked in her final years.
The family takes this opportunity to thank the Drs. Ross and Tremblay, as well as the Nursing staff of Lady Minto Hospital and those from Sudbury and Toronto, Dr. Piliotis, for their kindness and exceptional care during the last 7 arduous years. Also, many thanks to the various Personal Support Workers, including her niece Ashton, and Kelly at Métis Nation of Ontario for their support.
Charlene was grateful and humbled throughout the years by the kindness, generosity and support that she received from the Cochrane Community when she unexpectedly received her cancer diagnosis. It was a testament to the strength and importance of the close bonds forged within a small community.
In keeping with her wishes, a Celebration of Life with family and friends will be announced. If you so wish, donations in her name can be directed to Northern Ontario Animal Welfare Society (NOAWS) Cochrane Branch or any charity of your choice.
