It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Celina Lee MacLeod (Faulkner) on June 23, 2024, at the age of 76, surrounded by her family. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Doris (Toner) Faulkner: sister of Dennis (Esther), Gary (Tammy) Faulkner and honorary sister, Patricia. Lee always wanted to become a nurse and in 1970, she graduated from the Halifax Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing and later decided to get a Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Dalhousie University. Lee loved being a nurse and enjoyed helping others over her 30 year career, retiring as a nurse manager of three units within the V.G. She had a close knit group of nursing friends “The Girls” and together they had many wonderful adventures and laughs over the years. Lee was also deeply involved in her sorority, loving all the social and charitable activities. While Lee enjoyed working, her main focus and heart was always on her family. She was a loving wife, daughter, supportive sister (sister in-law), beloved mother and nanny. Lee and Bert’s love and commitment to each other was always evident as they raised their children. She was so very proud of her children and cherished spending time with them all, encouraging and supporting their hopes and dreams. When her grandson was born it was one of her proudest moments and she loved her new role
as nanny.
Lee is survived by her loving husband, Bert MacLeod of 55 years; children, Pamela, Nicole, Kimberlee,
Andrew (Ellie); her cherished grandson, Duncan; brother, Gary (Tammy) Faulkner. She will be greatly
missed by many and will remain forever in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to the Diabetes Association or The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
