Caroline
«Carrie» Laura (Duthie) Connors took her last breath on
Monday, October 10, 2023 at home. Born and raised in New Richmond,
Quebec, Caroline was the second daughter of the late Roland and
Isabelle (Grenon) Duthie. Caroline later lived in Montreal and St.
Eustache, Quebec, Truro, Nova Scotia, and Calgary, Alberta, before
settling back in Truro.
Caroline will be
forever remembered by her son, John (Lisa); brother-in-law, Brian
Smith; nephews and nieces, Mike (Min) Devouge, Tim (Karen) Devouge,
Cindy Devouge, Dawn (Mike) Devouge, Dorothy (Gordie) Morphy; as well
as her nephews and nieces children – in particular, great niece,
Brooke Devouge with whom she shared a close bond. Caroline was
predeceased by her sister, Judy Smith.
Known for being kind
to everyone and having a big heart, Caroline made those who met her
feel they were listened to and that they mattered. Because of this,
Caroline made many friends everywhere she went. She was her
son’s biggest fan and was immensely proud of
him. She will be greatly missed.
John and Lisa would
like to thank her brother-in-law, Brian Smith for all his help these
past few weeks.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young
Street, Truro, where a Celebration of Caroline’s life will
be held 11 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Reverend April Hart
officiating with reception to follow. Webcasting of the service will
begin at 10:55 am. If so desired, donations in Caroline’s
memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation are welcomed. Public messages of
