Carman’s Obituary
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at The Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge, Conception Bay South, Carman Bailey of Conception Bay South, age 81 years.
Predeceased by parents: Arthur and Blanche Bailey; sister: Muriel Fenn; brother: Allison Bailey; brothers-in-law: Ron Sullivan, Roy Dwyer, Percy Critch, and Jimmy Burrage; sisters-in-law: Mary Anne Bailey and Stella Burrage; nephew: Mark Burrage.
Leaving to mourn, wife of 59 years: Rhoda; children: Michelle (Mark), Robert, Jason (Anna), Wendy (Dwayne); grandchildren: Greg (Jen), Ben (Heather), Jon (Lindsay), Ethan (Allison), Hannah, Klara and Oskar; great-grandchildren: Eve, Max, and Oren; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
Carman was born in New Chelsea and made his living working in construction as a surveyor and site inspector. His love for the outdoors was evident in his many hunting and fishing trips with his friends and family. He loved boating and built many in his lifetime- from little pond boats to his final legacy, a 22 ft. cabin cruiser. His love for his family was his main priority and they were always his main focus and concern.
Special thanks to the staff of Glenbrook Lodge for taking exceptional care of him over the past 17 months.
Visitation at Green’s Funeral Home, Winterton on Wednesday, May 1 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Funeral service to take place on May 2 at 2:00 p.m. from Green’s Funeral Home, Winterton.
Interment in Wesley United Cemetery, New Chelsea.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to his family, 64 a Middleridge, Conception Bay South, A1X 6B8 or a charity of one’s choice.
