Euriel Carlotta Jordan fondly known as Peggy Seetram of Ajax Ont. Passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on June 20, 1961 in Georgetown Guyana to Victor and Carmelita Seetram.
She grew up at 377 West Ruimveldt and attended the Ascension Lutheran School where she excelled in academics and athletics. Peggy was a proud member of the St. John’s Ambulance Brigade. She was well liked and appreciated by all who came into contact with her. Her smile and warm personality was infectious.
Peggy, along with all her siblings, grew up attending Ascension Lutheran Church where her love for God and church was ingrained. Apart from the Christmas Eve service her other favourite was the Easter Sunday morning service where she would joyfully rise up and sing out loud Christ is Risen today, Hallelujah !!
One of her first jobs, while in Guyana, was at the Guyana Electricity Corporation where she developed a strong work ethic and love for people which was always on display throughout her work and private life.
Peggy loved to cook and bake. Her Christmas fruit cakes and her stew Oxtail were the best, she perfected the art of cooking the best Guyanese dishes that would always leave you longing for more.
She loved gardening and would spend hours planting and transplanting eye catching flower gardens.
Peggy was passionate about Christmas lights and decorations. She loved to decorate the Christmas tree and to put up new curtains around the home at Christmas. Peggy loved to sing and from time to time would belt out verses of songs that would make you wonder why she wasn’t singing professionally. Peggy was fascinated with fashion. She would never leave the home until she was immaculately dressed with matching colours even to do groceries.If she’s attending an official function, she would be one of the best dressed people there.
Her first love, undoubtedly, was her love for family especially the love for her children and her grandson whom she adored and cherished immensely. She loved her siblings and countless nieces and nephews. She loved and cared for all her friends from childhood to adulthood. She would spend hours searching the internet for friends where she was able to organized several reunions bringing them from all around North America and Guyana together. She was truly a Matriarch.
In Canada, Peggy attended Centennial and Durham Colleges where she pursued a career in nursing which led to her successfully passing the nursing program and becoming an RN. But before she can really enjoy the fruits of her labour, she was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer which eventually took her precious life away.
Let us continue to be inspired by the loving memories we have of Peggy. We will always love and remember you.
Visitation Details: Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church,
928 Liverpool Rd, Pickering, ON L1W 1S6.
Visitation from from 11:00 am til Service at 1:00 pm
