Carl Wakeford Obituary
It is with great sadness we inform you of Carl’s passing after a short and furious battle with cancer.
Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 41 years, Norma, and his two sons, Ross and Mark. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Donna (Garth) Lamb; nephew, Cole (Chrissi); brother-in-law, Andy (Deb) Tobler; brothers, Larry, Richard (Norma), Glen (Penny), and Terry (Valerie) Wakeford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends dear to his heart, who he considered family.
He was predeceased by his father, Fay; mother, Marion, and stepfather, Ken Cederholm.
Carl was born in High River and spent his younger years in the High River/Okotoks area before settling with his family in Calgary. For most of his adult life, he worked for Telus (formally AGT) and Auto Maxx. Carl loved his pets and his cars, which is evidenced by his collection. He looked forward every year to our annual trip to Vernon with our “Ball” family, where we have many great memories and laughs.
Anyone who knew Carl knows he had a great sense of humor right to the end. He taught us to cherish everyday we have with our loved ones.
We wish to thank our family physician, Dr. Simon Hudy, Dr. Jeffrey Schaeffer, Dr. Hamid Memon, NP Sandi Anderson, the Palliative Care Team Doctors and all the staff at Foothills Medical Centre unit 36. We would also like to thank the incredible staff at Agape Hospice who kept him comfortable in his final days with us, as well as my family for their incredible support.
There will be no funeral at Carl’s request.
