It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Raymond MacMullin of Woodstock, NB announce his peaceful passing on November 15, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the George L. Dumont University Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Woodstock February 18, 1944, to Earle and Ina (McCann) MacMullin, Carl lived the majority of his life in Woodstock.
In his early life Carl enjoyed summer visits to the old family farm in Maguadavic to help with the haying and other chores. He served in the army reserves for 3 years before starting his employment journey.
In his adult life Carl worked many jobs and was a successful businessman. He moved to Oshawa, ON in 1964 to work at General Motors Assembly Plant and then worked at Canada Bread before returning to Woodstock in 1968. Following in his father’s footsteps, Carl attended the New England Institute of Funeral Directors and Embalmers in Boston, MA to become a funeral director. Upon completion of his diploma, he returned to Woodstock and did his apprenticeship with his father. In 1971 Carl, along with his father, opened MacMullin Funeral Home and Chapel in Woodstock and operated serving the communities and people of Carleton County until 1986. In the mid seventies Carl also purchased the Britton Funeral Home in Hartland, NB and operated that until 1979. In 1987 Carl, his father and son acquired the Shell Canada Wholesale plant in Woodstock and operated this until 1991. In 1992 Carl and his son purchased a trucking company which operated under the Day & Ross Transportation Group and operated this company until 2019. In 2005 Carl and his daughter and son purchased a Christmas Tree Farm in Tay Creek, NB and operated this until 2011. Dad was a hard worker all of his life and proved that by continuing to drive weekends on Day & Ross until he was 76.
When his children were school age, and when Carl wasn’t working, he spent quite a bit of time in gyms, arenas and on baseball fields supporting his children in their sporting activities. He was always very supportive and travelled many miles to watch their competitions.
Carl -aka Dad, Grampie Mac, Papa Mac is survived by his son, Jeffrey MacMullin (Kim Lacey Matthews), his daughter Jan Cowper (Gary), 4 grandchildren

Carl was predeceased by his parents Earle and Ina MacMullin, his first wife Carol MacMullin and his great grandson Gabriel Cowper.
Carl enjoyed travelling, and in the last couple years going out on the side by sides in the Miramichi and a cold beer in the gazebo on a warm day.

Dumont University Hospital for their wonderful care. A special thank you to Nurse Maria, Nurse Ben and Drs. Savoie and Babineau for looking after Dad and the entire family during his stay.
