Carl Govier Obituary
Carl John Govier passed away peacefully at the Owen Sound Hospital on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Born to the late Carl and Mary Govier on December 22, 1949; he was in his 74th year.
Carl has found his way back to the one true love of his life – his loving wife of 39 years, Katy (Kathleen Laura Ann Knaggs – predeceased in 2010). He is the very proud father of Laurie and Jeff Gilkinson; Shannon McComb; Krista and Chris Stegehuis; and Todd and Erin Govier. Carl is also predeceased in 2008 by his son-in-law, Rick McComb. Adored Poppa of Kate and Jess (Kurtis); Logan, Ryan and Hayden; Brooke and Taylor; Jacob and Tyler. Special Great-Poppa of Eden Datema.
Carl had an unwavering loyalty to his family. He was a man of great integrity. His work ethic was second-to-none. Carl instilled these meaningful values in all of his children and grandchildren. Carl treasured time spent with family and particularly cherished the opportunities when we would all be together for Sunday suppers, summer days at the pool or holiday gatherings. He asked for so little but gave so very much and his legacy will live on in us forever.
In keeping with Carl’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service is planned for a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
