MILES, Glenford Marvin “BUNNY” 1937-2024 passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2024 at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay and entered Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior who he served for many years.
Bunny was the youngest son of Archie and Jessie (McDonald). He was loved and will be missed by his wife Annalene Miles (Hannon) of 65 years. Bunny was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by his daughter Laurie Campbell (Rev. David Campbell), of Lindsay and son Murray Miles (Wendy) of Norwood; Three precious grandchildren, Luke Campbell of Chilliwack BC, Kylie Padiath (Rev. Dr. Christopher Padiath) of Waterloo, and Carlene Miles of Norwood; Four Great-grandchildren Olivia, Sadie, Myla and Gustin.
Bunny was the baby of ten brothers and sisters all who have gone on before him. Edwin (Mary), Archie (Nona), Clifford (Shirley), Helen Estabrooks (Joe), Raymond (Doris), Marjorie McQuaig (Ken), Douglas, Trevor (Helen), Keith (Laura), Iva Foss (Scott).
He loved and was proud of all his nieces and nephews and will never be forgotten by them. Also a dear friend and Brother-in-law of Mauriel Hannon (Sylvia) of Norwood. Also remembered by his sister-in-law Shirley Miles (Doug). He will also be eternally remembered by all those who were touched by God from Bunny’s preaching and services throughout the years as he delivered God’s word as Pastor and Evangelist across Canada wherever he was invited to share. To God be all the Glory! Bunny started his great hockey passion serving in goal wearing catalogues for shin pads! He soon was noticed for his love for hockey and his skill as a forward scoring many goals for the home team or the Otonabee Wolves team. He loved sports and wanted to see lots of Children enjoying what it has to offer. That’s why he coached and sponsored both hockey and baseball for the Norwood community. He was the first inductee into the Norwood Hockey Hall of Fame. His picture now hangs in the local arena as a tribute to a great community thinking man.
He was a long-time honourary member of the Norwood Pentecostal Church – a building which he was blessed to be the supervisor in the construction of their current church home.
Bunny was a builder and throughout his lifetime constructed over 100 houses in the Norwood area including the entire Glendale Subdivision (Robert Road and Murray Street).
All his family and friends are invited to the Celebration of Life and Reception held in his honour at Norwood Pentecostal Church, County Road 40, Norwood on Saturday, May 25th at 10:00 am. Online condolences may be made at www.brettfuneralchapels.com.
“Well done thou good and faithful servant!”
