It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard (Bud) Horace Mallette on December 24th, 2023, in his 78th year. He is survived by his beloved wife Helen, his children Andrea (Shaun) Piels, and Ed (Sarah) Mallette. He will be dearly remembered by his four grandchildren Carter, Parker, Archer, and Addison Piels. He is predeceased by his father Bernard and mother Violet, sister Carol (Bonar) Bell, and brother Brian Mallette. Much beloved brother-in-law to Betty and Henry Haass, Valerie and John Geisberger, and Claire and Lynda Glendinning. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bud was born in Sudbury, Ontario, on September 25, 1946. He moved to Oshawa where he met his wife Helen and started his family. Throughout the years they bought land and built a cottage that brought many happy memories with his family. In the winter, he enjoyed watching the Oshawa Generals, and cheering on his grandchildren at all of their sporting events. In retirement he enjoyed having coffee with friends, spending time with family, fishing off the dock, and watching sports and movies.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 29th at 10:30-12 pm at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place after the viewing at 12 pm in the Chapel. Online condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
