Obituary of Brian Richard «BJ» Clarke Jr.
It is with profound sadness that Brian and Heather (Clayton) Clarke announce the unexpected passing of their only son, BJ, on August 26, 2024. He was born in Saint John on August 1, 1990.
BJ was an awesome son, remarkable father, and a loyal friend. BJ was an avid sports fan and poker player- something he thoroughly enjoyed daily with his dad, and he had a very special bond with his mom that was unbreakable. His most cherished moments in life were spending time with his boys, the joys of his life, and hanging with his awesome circle of friends. Those who knew BJ would say he had a heart of gold, kind, respectful and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, BJ is survived by his four sons: Marcus Clarke and Isaac Smith-Muise (chosen son) and their mother Jessica Muise. Quentin Clarke and Hudson Clarke and their mother Shannon Jadoo; his half-sisters, Andrea Garland (Mike) and Amanda Rossiter (Ryan); his paternal aunts and uncles: Gail McIntyre (Lou), his godfather Wayne Clarke (Sharon), and Lynn Balemans (Tony); maternal aunts and uncles: Jack Clayton, Rick Clayton (Brenda), Nancy Campbell (Lyle), Donalda Gillis, Joanne Clayton and Shelly Clayton; as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins and a wonderful circle of friends.
BJ was predeceased by his half-sister, Lisa Clarke; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Mary Clarke; maternal grandparents, Don and Blanche Clayton; his uncles: Tim, Ron, and Gary Clayton; and cousins, Christopher Clayton and Carla Campbell.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). No visitation or funeral service will be held as per the family’s wishes. A private family service will take place at a later date, as well as interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in memory of BJ may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
