Brian Douglas Silliphant loving father to Michelle Charles (Calvin) and Brent Silliphant (Kim), caring Brother to Brenda McCarthy, Uncle to Ashley McCarthy, David Milne and Jimmy Lamacraft (Chris), proud Grandpa to James Sillipant and Latrell Paris and Great Grandpa to James Silliphant Jr and Marianna Werginz-Silliphant. Brian passed away peacefully on August 9th, 2024 at the age of 74, surrounded by his close family and friends.
Brian was born at East York General Hospital on November 10th, 1949 to his now deceased parents Beatrice «Bea» Victor and George Silliphant.
He was known for being a jokester, always ready with a come-back. He was a food connoisseur, if you wanted the best in any type of food, he could tell you where to go. Dad enjoyed playing poker and taking everyone’s money, he was an avid pool player, he had a love for fast cars more specifically his special edition Challenger SRT 8 344OF500, watching old movies on TCM and getting the updates on the best horses racing at Woodbine.
He will be dearly missed by many of his friends, especially those who took the time to come and see him in his last days.
Brian is survived by his daughter Michelle, son Brent, sister Brenda, 2 Grandsons James and Latrell, 2 Great Grandchildren James Jr and Marianna. He is predeceased by his Mom Beatrice «Bea» Victor, his Father George Silliphant and his Step Father Reginald Victor.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday September 21st 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion 471 Simcoe St S, Oshawa, ON L1H 4J7 from 1pm to 5pm.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
He enjoyed working at Fraser Chyrsler as a shuttle driver. He built some great relationships there, this was a perfect side job for him as he was always «MR SOCIAL»
Special thanks to the nursing staff, social workers, occupational therapists and speech therapists at Lakeridge Health Oshawa C wing 5th floor. They always treated him with dignity and respect.
