Brendan Mackie Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of Brendan N Mackie on November 3rd, 2024, at his home in Saint John, NB at the age of 30. Born in Saint John, NB on January 30th, 1994, he was the son of Marcy Shepherd and Peter MacNab, and his biological father, Steve Mackie.
Brendan was the happiest when he was surrounded by his family and few close friends. He had a great personality that was easy to love, he was a perfect mix of kind-hearted and witty. He was a major lover of music, movies and shows. So much that he named his daughter after his favourite show. He also found joy in cheering on his favourite sports teams, and he really enjoyed cooking and baking.
Brendan was a survivor and fought many battles. He had a fighting spirit, and always had faith and courage amidst his struggles. This was evident especially during his last few years, as he tackled his daily battles with fearless determination. Although we would have given anything for him to experience freedom from all his struggles in this lifetime with us, we take comfort in knowing that he is finally experiencing peace. He will forever have freedom from struggles resting in the arms of his Papa, who passed earlier this year and deeply impacted Brendan.
Our grief over losing Brendan is eternal, and now so is he.
Brendan is survived, first and foremost, by his daughter Meadow Mackie and her mother Brittany Peters; mother Marcy Shepherd (Phil); father Peter MacNab (Shania); biological father Steve Mackie; brother and best friend Cameron MacNab; sisters, Ella, Gracie and Isabelle MacNab; maternal grandparents Bill (Joyce) Shepherd and Frances Shepherd; paternal grandparents Stella MacNab and Heather Lewins; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his above mentioned paternal papa, John “Butch” MacNab.
