Mrs. Brenda M. (Mutrey) McCarthy of Carbonear, passed away suddenly at her home in Carbonear on Monday, March 18, 2024 surrounded by her family. Brenda had been battling cancer for a year.
Leaving to mourn her husband of 41 years Reg, and their three children, Son Edward (Laurie) and Grandchild Ivy of Peterborough, ON, son Bryan of Paradise and daughter Emily (Shanna) O’Leary of Clarenville.
Predeceased by parents John Will and Rosalie Mutrey, and parents-in-law Edward and Grace McCarthy. Also numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Also leaving to mourn are her Sisters Marg (Jim) Crawford, Agnes (Tom) McCarthy, Nora (Marty Weatherall), Sheila (Cecil) Osmond, Rosalie (Reg) Earle, and Brothers James Mutrey and John (Karen) Mutrey. And good friend Mary Jo O’Keefe. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews as well as her friends if Sunset Palms in Florida, especially the shuffle board crew. She loved you all.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Health Sciences in St. John’s and the Community Health Burses in Carbonear.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Carbonear on Monday: 10:30 A.M-12 Noon, 2-5 P.M. & 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her loving memory to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. from St. Patrick’s R.C. Church & Cemetery, Carbonear.
