MacFarlane, Robert “Bob”
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 89 years. Devoted husband of the late Mildred MacFarlane.
Beloved father of Kent and Kelly of Waterloo, and Scott and Fiona of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of Sarah and Melanie; Graeme and Iain. Predeceased by his parents Percy and Bea McFarlane.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Elmira, and ran a successful Massey Ferguson dealership for decades. He enjoyed traveling with his wife when she could convince him to go. He cherished his time with family and friends. He loved spending time at the cottage, working with his hands; he was humble, stubborn, and full of stories and wit.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 in the funeral home chapel with a reception to follow. Interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. Special thank you to everyone who provided in home and hospital support for their exceptional care.
As expressions of sympathy donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
