March 25, 1930 – October 5, 2024
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Blanche Julie (DeMunck) Mabee, formerly of Cultus and Tillsonburg, at Eden House Long Term Care in Guelph on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the age of 94 years. Beloved wife of the Late James Mabee (1969). Proud and loving mother of David Mabee (Elvira) of Moffat and Kim Karat (Philip) of Acton. Cherished grandmother of Ryan, Blair, Ashley (Adam), Emily (Zach), Joshua, Bradley (Samantha) and great-grandchildren Leo and Cameron. Dear sister of Laura Rayner of Mississauga. Blanche is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Henri (1946) and Magdalena (D’Hooge) De Munck (1965), her daughter Janice Mabee (1976), sister Hilda Miggens (2006) and Remi (2013), brother Gabriel DeMunck (2017) and Lea (2016) and sister-in-law Jean Hanson (2001) and John (2000). Blanche owned and operated the Cultus General Store for 36 years.
In keeping with Blanche’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. A private family graveside service will follow at Eden Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Paul’s United Church or Cultus United Church would be appreciated by the family.
