Billie’s Obituary
SMITH, Billie Jack – After a long courageous battle of heart and lung disease, retired RCMP Constable Billie Jack Smith, age 80, passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family and friends.
Predeceased by his mother and father: Ruth and Edgar Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas; brothers: Eugene and Roscoe; his in-laws: Rita and Patrick Lewis of Conception Harbour; his sisters-in-law: Delores and Donna; brothers-in-law: Patrick Jr., Robert, Gerard and Michael; and daughter-in-law Anke.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife Genevieve of 59 years; beloved daughter Debbie (Neil); son Richard; grandchildren: Evan (Natasha), Erika (Claudine), Emily, and Bettina (Diego); great-grandchildren: Camilla and Sebastian. Also, many close family and friends, and his special furry buddies BJ and Lilly.
Billie dedicated his life to his community and serving others throughout his 20 years with the RCMP and being an active member with both the Legion and Knights of Columbus. He made many memories, shared many laughs and stories where he developed his lifelong friends.

To all the staff, doctors and nurses at Eastern Health and all the staff at Kingsway Retirement Living for your thoughtfulness, kindness and devotion to your profession to care for Billie during his final days.
Resting at Flaherty’s Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation on Thursday, June 15th, 2:00pm – 9:00pm, and Friday, June 16th, 2:00pm – 9:00pm.
Funeral Mass to be held at St. Anne’s Church, Conception Harbour, Saturday, June 17th at 11:30am.
Cremation to follow.
