FOSTER: William George “Bill”
Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Saturday December 31, 2022. Bill Foster of Lakefield in his 90th year. Bill served in the RCAF as a mechanic and continued that work in many locations throughout the area, retiring from Coyle’s Garage in Lakefield. He was a dedicated member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Lakefield and in his spare time, you could find Bill woodworking, flying model airplanes or riding his motorcycle. Loving husband of the late Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” (2017). Sadly missed by his children Diane Jessup (Warren) and William Gerard “Butch”, all of Lakefield. Dear grandpa of Melissa Cymbaluk (Mike), Gord Jessup (Amanda), Mike Jessup (Tammy) and great grandchildren Greyson, Sadie, Cali, Millie and Ben. Remembered by his brother Don Foster (the late Ethel) and his sisters-in-law Barbara Wallace (the late Carl) and Bernadette Phillips (the late Ron). Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his nephew Gary Foster. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Friday January 6, 2023 from 7-9 PM. Parish Prayers will be offered on Friday at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul The Apostle R.C. Church on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #77, Lakefield. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice Peterborough or the R.C.L. Branch #77 Poppy Fund as expressions of sympathy, and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Peterborough for the wonderful care they provided to Bill.
