PINCHIN, Beverly Jane, 1934 -2023. Peacefully in the care of Northumberland Hills Hospital, in the early hours of July 19, 2023. Jane is survived by her brother John and her sister-in-law Ann (Jim).
She is predeceased by her husband Ben Lloyd, her brother Jim and her niece Katie. She will be sorely missed by her nephews and nieces (Alec, Bruce, Karen, Janet, Ellen and Lisa) and their families, and by Ben’s family.
Jane was born and raised in Midland, Ontario, attended Western University and had owned a florist shop in Yorkville several years ago before moving to the Port Hope area. She continued her love of plants and flowers, spending hours creating and nurturing her spectacular gardens at their Mastwoods home in Hope Township. Family and friends have fond memories of Fall Apple Picking Weekends. More recently, Jane was a longstanding resident of the Penryn Community in Port Hope where she engaged in entertaining conversations with her neighbours while on her walks. She was particularly well appreciated and will be missed by the resident canines and their humans. She will be sincerely missed by her many neighbours and friends. Jane was particularly appreciative of the friendship and support over many years of Bill and Charlene Glenn.
Jane was an informed and spirited person who readily engaged in entertaining conversations. She was independent, determined, and generous. She and Ben were supporters of many worthy causes within Northumberland County including the establishment of the St Mark’s Heritage Foundation and the renovation of the parish hall.
If desired, donations would be encouraged to either St. Mark’s Church in Port Hope, or Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.
A private celebration of life to be arranged at a future date.
