Obituary of Betty Kenwell
No matter where you sail, ultimately, you must turn toward it. Everything fades in the world, but Death endures. Death is the only lighthouse that is always lit. The light shining on in memory of the lost loved one.
Elizabeth (Betty) Helen Kenwell of Brownsville, Ontario was born March 4, 1958 in Welland, Ontario, daughter of Joseph (1990) and Mary Kenwell (1968). Betty was the second youngest of 8 children. She lived a life with many challenges that made her stronger than ever but no matter what, she lived for her family and friends.
Betty’s lighthouse light was lit in the morning hours of December 25, 2023 in Tillsonburg, Ontario at the age of 65, with her daughter and dear friend by her side.
Betty was the proud mother of Damien Goforth, Darryl Goforth (2021) and Courtney Heffren (Tony).
As much as Betty loved her children she was an even prouder Nanny. Her face lit up when she was around her 7 grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by Vanessa, Ayden, Hudson, Alexandra, Aurorra, McKinley and her newest addition that she held on so strong to meet and love on Baby Xavier.
Betty will be missed tremendously by her partner Kelly Emerson. Her siblings Gord (Tracy) Kenwell, Patricia (Dave) Kenwell and Joanne (Kevin) Stiltz. She was loved deeply by many nieces and nephews whether they be by blood or by name. She was “Aunt Betty” to everyone! She will be missed by many close friends as well.
Betty is predeceased by both of her parents, her son Darryl Goforth (2021) her sisters Barbara Kenwell (1966), Ruth Sears(2020), Shirley Dietz(2020) and her brother Arthur Kenwell (2019).
Many who knew and loved Betty knew just how much she loved the sunrise, lighthouses and nautical things. Her nautical collection was large and often became a joke amongst the ones that loved her. Betty enjoyed travelling with friends to tropical places. She explored many different career options throughout her life but for anyone who knew her the favourite was the “income tax lady”.
Betty was a fierce and strong woman who was not afraid to speak her mind. She was the first to offer support and help but wasn’t afraid to give a stern opinion if needed. She had the mouth of a trucker at times and the words on an angel at others. Her life experiences gave her both knowledge and wit.
In respecting Betty’s wishes no services will be held. A private family graveside service will be held at the Beachville Cemetery, Beachville, Ontario. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Country Charm Animal Rescue. Share memories or condolences at kebbelfuneralhome.com
