BALL, Betty Jean (Rooke) R.N. – (July 9, 1932 – May 3, 2024) –
It is with sadness that we, the family of Betty Jean Ball announce her peaceful passing, after a life well lived, at Maple Manor Long Term Care, Tillsonburg, on May 3, 2024, at the age of 91. Betty was born in Tillsonburg to Arthur and Nora (Louch) Rooke. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and much-loved grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Betty will be remembered for her years of dedication as a Registered Nurse at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and Maple Manor. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert Alan Ball (June 16, 2016). Lovingly remembered by her daughters Lynn McLaughlin (late husband Barry, 1998), of Calgary, Alberta; Lois Durbidge, of Woodstock; Laura Ball, of London; Leslie Ball (Blair Chesterton), of Courtland. Always a caring grandmother to Wendy Way, Becca Way, D.J. (Amanda) Way, Katie McLaughlin, and Jake McLaughlin. Special great-grandmother to Darren, Liam, Korin, Layla and Chloe. Also survived by her sister Helen Wallace (late husband Mervin, 2017), as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with Betty’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment of both Betty and Robert’s earthly remains will take place in Delmer Cemetery.
