Obituary
Smith, Bernard Ashley – 78, of Barrington, formerly of Shag Harbour, passed away at Bay Side Home, Barrington, on February 15, 2023. He was born at South Side on November 27, 1944. Bernard is survived by his children, Amanda Smith, Joey (Terry) Smith and Carla Smith (Franklin Stoddart); grandchildren, Christy, Lacey, Brandy, Tyson, Kandiace, Amber and Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Christian, Shakira, Carol-Lynn, Benjamin, Kenadie and Devyn. Bernard was predeceased by his grandson, Devon in infancy. Bernard’s passion was his ducks and his geese, he loved spending time with them, taking time to feed and raise them. He loved to watch hockey, go wheelering and hunting. He also greatly enjoyed travelling around with his best friend, Randall Stoddard and helping him take care of his own ducks and dog; they helped each other out a lot. There will be a public visitation held from 12-1 pm on Sunday, February 19, at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, followed by a private family funeral service. Interment to follow in the Centreville Cemetery, Centreville. Memorial donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation.
