It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Bartholomew «Bart» Walsh of Little Bay announces his passing. Bart passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the age of 81.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Betty of 52 years; sons, Bart Walsh Jr. (Isabelle) and Owen Walsh (Shandee); daughters, Wanda Lee Gillard (Arthur) and Beth-Ann Walsh (Jason); grandchildren, Tyler Gillard (Nicole), Katie Walsh (Ben), Adam Gillard, Tessa Walsh, Simon Bellavance (Sophie), Liam Pike, Daniel Pike, Nolan Walsh, Mason Walsh and Melanie Dober; sisters, Geraldine Hodder, Theresa Morris (Patrick), Marilyn Walsh and Mary Walsh; brothers, Frank Walsh (Gladys), Wayne Walsh (Linda), Luke Walsh Jr and Brian Walsh; sisters-in-law, Adele Walsh, Debbie Walsh, Thelma Murphy, Marion Murphy and Violet Murphy; brothers-in-law, Thomas Murphy (Velma), Alphonsus Murphy (Margaret) and Eugene Murphy (Doreen); lifelong friend who could always put a smile on his face, Walter Rennie (Corina); plus a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bart was predeceased by his baby boy, Barry Gerard Walsh; parents, Mary & Luke Walsh; parents-in-law, Elizabeth & Alphonsus Murphy; brothers, Arch Walsh (Lorraine & Jeanette), Gerard Walsh and Beaton Walsh; sister, Bernadette Drake (Alphonsus); brothers-in-law, John Murphy (Margaret), Edward Murphy, James Murphy (Priscilla), Matthew Murphy, Ignatius Murphy and Bernard Hodder; and sisters-in-law, Monnie Hanrahan and Maggie Murphy.
We would like to thank the staff at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre and his home care workers, Barb Cheeseman and Terry Miller for their support and care.
You loved your family, reminiscing of the past, listening to music, sitting on the patio enjoying the sun and watching the weather channel. Your presence will be missed and you’ll be thought of often. Watch over and protect us.
In honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.
The Walsh Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Homes, Marystown on:
Sunday, March 10th
10am – 12noon
2pm – 4pm
7pm – 9pm
A funeral service will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown on:
Monday, March 11, 2024 at 10:30am
Inurnment to follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Little Bay.
In Bart’s memory donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice or flowers gratefully accepted.
