It is with sadness that the family of the late Gus Lawrence of Bay L’Argent, announces his passing. Gus passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on April 23, 2024, at the age of 91 years.
Gus was a devoted husband and father. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Jean, of 64 years; son, Garfield (Heather) of St. Philips; daughter, Beverley (Craig) Barrett of Mount Peart; grandchildren: Robert (Elizabeth) Barrett, Richard Barrett, Joshua (Brittany) Lawrence and Jonathan (Erica) Lawrence; great-granddaughter, Madison Lawrence; sisters in law: Shirley, Esther, and Georgina Banfield; brothers in law: Lloyd, Henry and Frank Banfield; plus a large circle of relatives and friends.
Gus was predeceased by his parents, Alfreda and Garfield Lawrence; brother, Garfield Lawrence; sisters in law: Blanche Hawes, Alva, Lillian and Dorothy Banfield; brothers in law: Donald Hawes, Fred and Donald Banfield.
A special thanks to Henry Banfield and Gus’ homecare workers for their kindness and support during his recent illness. Also a special thank you to Dr. Acharya, and the doctors and nurses at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre during Gus’ sickness.
In honoring Gus’ wishes, cremation has taken place.
The Lawrence Family will be accepting visitors at St. Hilda’s Anglican Church on
Friday, April 26th, 2024 at
2:00pm to 4:00pm
A celebration of life will take place at St. Hilda’s Anglican Church on
Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
Inurnment will follow at St. Hilda’s Anglican Cemetery.
Donations in Gus’ memory can be made to St. Hilda’s Anglican Church, Bay L’Argent.
