Our hearts are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our Father, Arthur(Art) Joseph Gauthier, at the age of 79 years, on August 28th, 2024 at his home in Garson, Ontario.
Son of the late Mary and Theophile LeClair and the late Wilfred Gauthier. Beloved husband of Rose Marie Gauthier(nee Chevrier). Devoted father of Kimberly(Maurice) Restiaux, June(Lorne) Dupont, April Gauthier(Steve), and Kevin(Charlene) Gauthier. Papa Art will be missed by his 10 grandchildren: Krystopher(Angele), Kyle, Kristin (Justin), Carly, Ryan (Sarah), Breanna, Austin, Isabelle, Cassandra, Mitchell, as well as great grandchildren: Skarlett-Rose, Violett, Lily-Jean, Valeska, and Chase. Brother to Carmeline Veccia (Rolando) (both pre-deceased), Lorenza Totman (Roy predeceased), Freda Bourrier (Albert predeceased), Mary Piché (Ron), Brenda Diebel (David), Phyllis Levesque (Frank), Keith LeClair (Diane), Theodora Staley (Jeff) and the late George and Wilfred Gauthier. Our Father will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Dad enjoyed and was well known for playing guitar and singing. He loved spending time with family, being with nature, camp life and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. We have many fond memories of the entire family playing cards around a big table. This tradition continued as he fought cancer over the past two years. Special thanks to Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Keith for your many trips from Espanola to spend time with Dad playing cards and bringing Aunt Freda, Aunt Mary and Aunt Lorraine along.
Arrangements will be made for Dad at a future date for him to be laid to rest in the Espanola Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to his favourite charities: the Red Cross and the War Amps would be greatly appreciated.
Interment at Parklawn Crematorium.
