Pereira, Antonio Nunes – Passed away peacefully at Riverbend Place, Cambridge, on Thursday September 5, 2024, at the age of 90. ‘Tony’ was born in 1933 on the small island of Flores in the Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1955.
He will be missed by devoted wife of 58 years, Barbara Pereira (nee Diebold). He will be remembered by his daughters Diana Johnston (husband Michael) and their daughter Kaileigh, and Jane Gaynor (partner Gus Larnaudie) and Jane’s sons Alexander and Matthew. Tony was predeceased by his five siblings Jose, Maria, Francisco, Salmao and Carmina. Survived by his sister-in-law Rosalina and brother-in-law John, as well as many nieces and nephews Jimmy and Gina, Natercia and Edwina, Paulo, the late Regina, Mary Joe and Jeannie. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where family and friends will be received on Sunday September 8, 2024, from 2-5p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday September 9, 2024, at 11a.m. Reception will follow. An interment will be held at Parklawn Cemetery following.
